Fine Dining Meets Modern Atmosphere
Our mission is to Shift Kitchen & Bar the mentality of the “normal” dining experience. We are an American shared plates restaurant where food is meant to be enjoyed in a family style manner. Pastry Chef / Owner, Dara Wong, hopes to challenge locals and travelers alike to look beyond what they might consider typical “mountain town” food. Shift aims to focus on bold flavors, a locally driven menu, and artfully composed plates served up amidst a casual and approachable ambiance.

Once a month Shift offers a variety of house-made pastries like croissants, danish, cookies, and cinnamon rolls. As well as quiche, burritos, and assorted espresso drinks to enjoy in the morning. Each month a local charity is chosen to donate any leftover pastries.

Each guest will be greeted by the Shift crew to share our morning favorites. Pastry Chef and Owner, Dara, started her career making breakfast pastries at Michelin star restaurant, Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder, CO. After opening Shift, she wanted to share her passion with the Flagstaff community. And so, the Bake Sale was born.
MEET THE OWNER / PASTRY CHEF
Dara Wong
Shift Kitchen and Bar and Oeno Wine Lounge Owner Dara Wong, a 2022 Young Athena Award Nominee, has a passion for pastry and a love for wine. As a business management graduate of the prestigious University of Denver, Dara boasts an impressive resume thanks to time spent alongside culinary legends such as Master Sommelier, Bobby Stuckey and James Beard Chef, Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson of Frasca Food and Wine (Boulder, CO). She furthered her culinary knowledge as the Assistant Pastry Chef at Sweet Basil in Vail, CO. Prior to launching Shift in 2016, Dara served as the General Manager and Pastry Chef of Flagstaff’s own Tourist Home Urban Market. She then opened Oeno Wine Lounge in 2021 in order to continue her love for hospitality and her involvement in the Flagstaff community. A Division I swimmer for the University of Denver, Dara spends much of her free time with her wife Sierra at the gym, running with their pups, and hitting the slopes.
